Police raided the home of lawyer Necat Çiçek, the head of the Lawyers for Freedom Association (ÖHD) in Diyarbakir. After a search of the house, lawyer Çiçek was detained.
ÖHD Diyarbakır Branch shared the following on its social media account regarding the detention: "Our branch manager, Attorney Necat Çiçek, was detained this morning as part of the investigation carried out by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. We do not accept attacks aimed at criminalizing our professional activities! Lawyer Necat Çiçek should be released immediately!" (MA)
