In Antep, Melike Textile workers stopped working after refusing the boss’s low raise offer. The boss proposeda monthly wage of 5200 TL ($371.00). However, the workers demand a minimum wage of 6000 TL ($428.00).
When it snowed, they cut off the worker who couldn’t make it.
Turkey was under a blizzard last week and daily life was suspended everywhere. Some workers who could not go to work in the days when life was paralyzed by heavy snowfall had their wages cut and some workers had to give up days from their annual leave. Workers are also protesting this practice.
The boss asked for time, the workers got back to work.
