The workers of Inan Deri Leather factory have won their struggle by demonstrating in front of the boss’ house for 45 days. The workers belong to Deri-İş Leather Workers Union.
The owner of the factory had claimed bankruptcy and had laid off all the workers. This common game played by the bosses did not deter the workers from struggling. In the face of losing their past wages and rights, the workers started to demonstrate in front of the boss’ house demanding to get their dues.
The resistance first started in front of the plant but moved to the front of the house the owner lives. After the owner agreed to pay the dues, the workers will receive 20% of their back wages in cash and the rest as promissory notes.
