A News cameraman, Nihat Fındıklı, who said he would not support Erdogan in the presidential election, was fired at the A Haber news organization. A Haber is known for its one-sided, staunch propagandistic support of the Erdogan regime in Turkey.
Nihat Fındıklı, a cameraman who started working in September 2020 at A Haber, a newspaper published by Turkuvaz Media, announced on his social media account that he was fired after saying that he would not support the AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the election.
Speaking to Cumhuriyet TV, Fındıklı said that he had criticized the government due to the delays and lack of earthquake relief and announced that he would not support Erdoğan in the upcoming elections on May 14th. He said he was fired three days after his statements.
Nihat Fındıklı said, “During my personal conversation, I expressed my views at work. I don’t know how what I talked about among my friends reached my superiors. Either I was caught on a security camera, or someone ratted. The official document says I was removed due to the ‘economic contraction.’ But I am hearing that I was removed because of my opinions.”
