The man who attacked the HDP Istanbul provincial building on February 21 and was detained and released attacked the HDP provincial building again on March 25.
After vandalizing HDP offices on February 21st, Mehmet Beyazıt was caught for his crime, detained, but released by the Turkish courts.
According to Yeni Hayat, Mehmet Beyazıt, who attacked the HDP Istanbul provincial building on February 21 and was released after being detained, attacked the HDP provincial building again this morning.
Attacks against HDP party offices and members are common due to its being targeted by the government. Most attackers know they will not be prosecuted for their crimes against HDP, which has become the key party in the upcoming elections on May 14th. Representing the Kurds, an oppressed minority in Turkey, and all minorities, including the Armenians, women, and LGBTQ communities, HDP is the prime opponent of the Erdogan regime.
Attacked again
In the information given by the HDP Istanbul Press Commission, it was reported that “Mehmet Beyazıt attacked once again at 8.14 this morning when no one was in our provincial building.”
