Esenyurt Halkevi on the street against energy hikes: “Millions are condemned to spend the winter in the dark and under blankets”
Esenyurt Halkevi (Peoples’ House) organization issued a press release in the Depo region in Istanbul, Turkey to reject the recent utility hikes
Esenyurt Halkevi took action in response to the recent energy hikes. Members of the opposition organization met in Depo district and read a press release. The statement emphasized that the increases in electricity price and bills were based on increasing the profit margins of private distribution companies, while the partial decrease announced after the protests were insufficient. Criticizing the inadequate improvement from 210 kWh to 150 kWh for the first tier in charging for the electricity power, Halkevi member said, “Who determines the limits of the tiers charged in power usage?”
