The police attacked the contract cleaning workers who have stopped work demanding better working conditions and the 42 fired co-workers be given their jobs back.
When the police understood that arresting workers one-by-one when they left the strike site to go to the bathrooms did not work, they attacked the striking workers at the site they had gathered.
Three hundred workers went and met at the offices of DISK, the Confederation of Progressive Labor Unions to discuss the police attack and strategies to adopt.
A heated discussion ensued during the meeting on actions to take against these kinds of attacks.
At the end decisions were passed to continue actions, and to speed up the tasks of the commissions overseeing the labor dispute. The workers who had been mailed notices that they had been fired will be starting the legal procedure to contest the firings.
Tomorrow there will be a march and a rally by the workers in front of the municipality
