The workers of SCT FİLTRE OTOMOTİV SAN, which produces air filters for vehicles at Tarsus, a southern town in Turkey organized under Birleşik Metal-İş, a union under the Confederation of Progressive Labor Unions, DISK, last July in 2005.
While negotiations were under way for the 300 workers of the plant, the bosses stopped the talks and refused to negotiate.
In response, the workers started a strike on March 15th.
The union has called for an action to support the 300 resisting workers and their families on April 21st. The call states that this strike is not only the resistance of the workers of this plant but is also an issue for all working peoples.
