The students’ and peoples’ reaction against the transportation fare increase for students resulted in revoking the rate hikes.
The students collected more than 1500 signatures in the 3 days following the rate hike and decided to carry the signatures to the Chamber of Commerce in a bicycle convoy in the northern city of Trabzon.
Fearing the reaction would spread, the Chamber of Commerce decided not to impose the fares until next semester on the day the bicycle convoy would take place.
