The Das Kapital, the work of Karl Marx was not allowed inside the Bolu F type prison when it was brought to an inmate.
The military official at the prison said the book was in a list of banned books prepared in 1992 and the person who brought the book would be charged with “committing communist propaganda.”
The publisher of Sol Publications, writer and producer Muzaffer İlhan Erdost reacted to the news said the book had never been a subject of interrogation either when it was published or during the last 41 years of its publication. He said, “We had a crime called, ‘making communist propaganda’ in the past. Our country is full of miracles! Even today, we are seeing an unbelievable restriction on the basic socialist classics.”
