Workers illegally laid off for organizing have started an action against their employer. After reading a press release, the workers started their action in front of their workplace.
30 workers of Beypınarlar Corporation subcontracting for the power distributor BEDAŞ, in Istanbul have been laid off after union organizing efforts. After the union Enerji Sen, the Power Workers’ Union, intervened and the workers reacted, the employer had to take back 16 of the 30 dismissed laborers. The workers decided to start an action to support their 14 friends left behind with a press release and an action in front of the plant.
In the press release, the workers said the illegal actions of the bosses would see a fierce resistance from the workers. They also said, they would reject any compromise, corruptness or attempts to buy them off and would continue their struggle to lead an honest life.
