Energy workers quit their jobs in 4 provinces against the imposition of “misery wages.”
In the ongoing collective bargaining agreement negotiations between Uluğ Enerji and DİSK Enerji Sen, energy workers rejecting the “miserable increase” being offered started to resist. Union leaders also started an indefinite sit-in at the gates of Uluğ Enerji’s headquarters in Bursa.
DISK is the Confederation of Progressive Labor Unions, or otherwise known as the Confederation of Revolutionary Labor Unions.
While the unacceptable increase was imposed on energy workers, the workers objected to the increase and went to a work stoppage in Bursa, Balıkesir, Çanakkale and Yalova provinces today. The workers, who called on the people of Bursa, asked them to participate in the labor action in front of Merinos UEDAŞ against the low wage.
The workers will hold a press conference in front of Merinos UEDAS at 18.00.
