It is known that Tayyip Erdoğan’s son, Bilal Erdoğan, is a partner of the family corporation operating in the maritime sector and also owns a restaurant chain. Bilal Erdogan, who has been growing his business day by day, is now entering the energy sector with the New Turkey Education Foundation (YETEV), which he founded in 2018.
According to İsmail Arı from BirGün, YETEV, of which Bilal Erdoğan is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, is affiliated with private schools such as Yenidoğu Schools and İrfan Schools. On February 17, YETEV applied to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change and started an environmental impact assessment (EIA) process to install a solar power plant (GES) in the Bor district of Niğde. On March 22, the ministry announced that it had decided that “EIA is not required” for the project.
According to the information in the project presentation file, the solar power plant to be established in Okçu Village of Bor district will cost 95 million TL. Within the scope of the project, the plan is to install 13 thousand 211 panels on an area of 13 hectares. It was announced that the economic life of the project would be 49 years, and the construction period covering the land preparation and installation works is planned to be six months. The report also stated that the land in question was originally designated in the development plans as “agricultural land.”
