On February 11th, workers at the Bereket, ACS-Kursan, Kalkavan, Leyal and Isiksan ship dismantling facilities in Aliaga stopped work demanding additional raises. The inflation rate above 110% in Turkey has forced millions to poverty overnight and tiny raises the employers give are well below what the workers are losing due to inflation alone.
Resistance from Aliaga ship dismantling workers on its sixth day
The workers saluted the resistance of the Farplas and Migros workers and said, “We stand with the Farplas and Migros workers”. Workers at Migros food distribution warehouse are on strike after the bosses fired more than 250 for exercising their constitutional right to form or join a union.
