I worked here for nine months. Sometimes I worked both day and night, sometimes my fingers bled. We worked 14-hour shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 the next day. Just so your boss can deliver his products on time. We wanted a fair wage. We wanted the market price for our labor, we didn’t want more than that. The wages we’re getting don’t even make us live humanely. We wanted to meet with the management, they didn’t even accept to meet with us. They fired us unfairly and unlawfully under Code 49. I will never give up my fight, my rightful cause.

“Code 49 is a boss lie”
Speaking on behalf of the Coordination of the Labor Movement, Nurseli Gozcik pointed out that code 49 which allows the bosses to fire workers if they go on strike was abused by bosses and said:
The workers were fired under code 49 because they wanted their rights. Code 49 is a boss lie. The workers worked 14-hour shifts when the time came, they couldn’t get out of the workplace. The workers performed all their duties, worked day and night. They’re trying to break the workers’ struggle, their resistance, with Code 49.
“The wage we demand doesn’t even make us live humanely”
