News about promotion of a sexual predator is banned by Turkish judges

Women students at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, a school that bears Turkey’s current president’s name, have complained about sexual harassment from associate professor Serkan Hacicaferoğlu. However, the university administration decided that, despite numerous complaints, there was no need to investigate the matter.

The university rectors are appointed personally by the President without any due process after Erdoğan collected all power personally. There is an ongoing process of making higher education more Islamic and loyal to Erdoğan and moving away from secular and independent science.

Many students claimed the professor made sexual advances through social media, harassed, and gave lower grades when his advances were not answered. They took these complaints to the school administration as well as the higher umbrella organization Higher Education Council, the government prosecutor, and other judicial authorities.

To make matters worse, the government-appointed administration promoted the accused professor to head the Sports and Physical Fitness department.

When this news caused a national reaction, a Turkish Government’s appointed judge censored the promotion report. Now, the story that a sexual predator was promoted to head the sports school is banned in Turkey, and it can not be reported.
