These newly invented crimes come at the exact time when the opposition pummels the inaptitude and the abject failure of the government in handling the economic catastrophe.
Everybody knows that it is the bankers who control the world, but, Turkey just signed a new law that erases any doubt.
With a new regulation that was adopted yesterday the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) made amendments against manipulation and false declarations in the banking industry.
However, this new regulation comes just when the economic collapse has hit the Turkish economy, unemployment rose, the dollar hit record high against the sinking Turkish Lira. More than concentrating on banking manipulations and fraud, the new law makes it a crime for anyone to even express their personal views of the economy.
The Ministry of the Treasury and Finance is led by the president’s son-in-law Berat Albayrak. Erdoğan has brought many restrictions to the freedom of the press or freedom of expression in other areas, but at the time when the economy has hit the bottom, more restrictions were needed to save the son-in-law.
Albayrak is infamous for his blabbering meaningless monologues having no point but just repeating like a child, “All is well, all is well” when asked about the state of economy.
The new regulations include text that prevents the criticism against the government, the economy, and includes in these crimes, “the spreading of false rumors or rumors that could affect the foreign currency levels or interest rates even if they are spread through the internet.” In another article a new crime is defined as, “Information or rumors that could damage the trust in the financial system, and cause a systemic risk.”
These newly invented crimes come at the exact time when the opposition pummels the inaptitude and the abject failure of the government in handling the economic catastrophe.
