On May 12, two bombs exploded in the small town of Reyhanli, bordering Syria, where many “refugees” are kept and taken care by the Turkish “moderate Muslim” government. There are more than 350,000 so-called “refugees” in Turkey who have come to fight on the side of the US, Turkey, Israel and Saudi Arabia to topple the Syrian regime. Even when Turkey’s limited resources are needed for its own citizens who lack any government help, vast aid is given to these terrorists to attack Turkey’s Southern neighbor. While Turkish citizens are denied medical help, the fighters from Libya, Europe, Saudi Arabia and others supporting the Jihad have enjoyed unlimited medical care in Turkish hospitals, especially if they get wounded in their attacks against the sovereign Syrian nation. There have been many demonstrations by the people of the region in Turkey against the Jihadist fundamentalists hosted in these camps as investigations by journalists and members of the parliament showed that these “refugees” in Turkey actually slip secretly into Syria to commit terrorist attacks and slip back into Turkish camps to be protected by the US friendly Turkish government of Erdogan. Camp residents frequently attack local Turkish citizens and threaten openly that, “Once they are done with Syria, they would be turning their guns to the Alevite Turkish citizens,” who have the same religious affiliation as the Syrian government. Turkish government is Sunni and has a record of being hostile to its Alevite citizens. The terrorists protected by the Turkish government carry guns and frequently smash windows of shops and attack residents as well as help themselves to food and restaurants and claim they are under no obligation to pay, as the Turkish government is their host. They are under constant protection of the Turkish police and the army and have not been held accountable for their lootings, beatings, and attacks even within the Turkish borders.
During the large demonstration in Ankara, the spokesperson for KESK, the union of public workers, said the bomb attacks in Reyhanli were no surprise when Turkey’s prime minister Erdogan has promised to invade Syria if the USA starts the invasion and when Erdogan has openly invited the US to invade Syria.
KESK spokesperson also asked why no other perpetrators were identified in such a speedy manner in other attacks against the people, when this time the bombing suspects were supposedly identified immediately by the Turkish government. He asked the government, “If you have identified the suspects immediately, then why did you ban any publication of this? Who or what are you trying to conceal by putting a press ban?”
The spokesperson Yuksel said the ruling JDP was responsible for the attacks and called on all people to resist and stop a brewing war against Syria.
Protests in Adana
The two bombing incidents in Reyhanli, where the aid to insurgent terrorists in Syria is mostly stockpiled was also protested in Adana, a large city in the East Mediterranean coast. Unions belonging to DISK, the Progressive Labor Union Confederation, joined by member unions of Turk-IS confederation staged a march also attended by TMMOB, the nationwide highest organization of Engineers and Architects, the Chamber of Physicians, student organizations, progressive political parties such as ODP, and the Turkish Communist Party as well as other progressive and revolutionary organizations. The demonstrators expressed the involvement of the Turkish government in the provocative bombings in Reyhanli and held the ruling JDP responsible for the attacks.
Demonstrations against the JDP government in Bursa
The people of Bursa took it to the streets to protest the Turkish government’s involvement in the Reyhanli bombing and marched to the offices of the ruling, pro-US government party, JDP.
Speaking at the protest, the head of the Teachers Union said, “The JDP promised ‘zero problems with our neighbors’ when they came to power. However, look at where we are now. We are in dispute with every single neighbor, we are meddling in their internal affairs, we are promoting war, we have become a volunteer soldier of the US!”
He added, “The El Nusra Front and the ‘Free Syrian Army’ are not the forces who defend the demands of justice and freedom of the Syrian People. These forces are fighting to bring the most severe Sharia Law to the land.” The spokesperson also said the support Erdogan’s government has been giving to the “free Syrian Army’ translates disaster for Turkey.
The Teacher Union representative concluded his talk by saying, “What is beneficial for Turkey is to support the demands of justice, freedom, liberation and democracy of the peoples of Syria, Iraq and the Kurds.”
