300 Workers at Adil Boz textile factory in Uşak staged a march for not receiving their wages for 5 months. Gathering at the plant in the morning, the workers marched 15 kilometers to the Governor’s offices. Sending a representative to talk to the governor, the workers said they will not work at the textile plant until their wages are paid.
Some workers expressed that their social security payments had not been paid by the bosses and anytime they asked to be paid, they were scolded. The group included many workers who were younger than 18 years working at the plant.
During the march and in front of the governor’s offices, the workers chanted, “Don’t be silent, if you are, you will be the next!”
Other workers said, “We used to get paid every two months. But we have not been paid at all in the last 5 months. Many of us can not even buy oil to cook anymore. Our children go to schools, we can not afford to buy anything for them, pay the rent or buy groceries. How can we go on like this?”
