A laboratory worker at Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine won the court suit against being charged for lunch when the lunches were supposed to be free.
The school was charging all personnel, including professors, assistants and researchers between 1 and 2.5 YTL (around 0.75 – 1.25 US dollars) for lunches served from the school cafeteria.
Aydin Erol, a laboratory technician sued the school against the practice of charging for food and after 8 months of deliberations, he won the case.
