The only union for the retired workers, Emekli-Sen opened two stands for recruitment and organizing in the nation’s capital, Ankara.
In the press release at the opening of stands read by the union’s President Veli Beysülen said in order for the retired workers to live a normal life they were being forced to find a new job.
Veli Beysülen said 7.5 million retired workers were being ignored and the retirement pay these workers received kept a family of four below the hunger level.
Beysülen called for all retired workers to organize under the union and promised a struggle to have a collective bargaining with the government.
