Changes are taking effect at Beko, the largest appliance manufacturer, due to restructuring.
Using restructuring as an excuse the management laid off 387 workers. This number reflects only one third of total workers sacked by the company. While these developments occur every day, the silence from the union, Türk Metal organized there is deafening. The union has not done anything in the face of this frontal attack from management.
The results of these developments silently taking place at the end of 2006 at Beko still remains to be seen.
