The actions taken by the University of Ankara contract cleaning workers paid off as they received their unpaid back wages today. The company deposited the back wages and a partial pay for the upcoming month to the workers accounts on Friday.
The workers had stopped work due to irregular payments for the last 5 months and having received no payment for the last month. Their action was strongly supported by health care unions Dev-Sağlık İş, ATO and SES.
When the workers were determined not to resume work until their wages were paid in full, this action proved to be successful in the struggle to obtain the rights denied by the bosses.
