Celebrating the World Peace Day on September 1st, the members of the Peoples Houses (Halkevleri) organization held a press release to oppose Turkish Governments collaboration with the US and Israel and its decision to send troops to Lebanon to please the US.
The members started marching after the press release to the city’s central Cumhuriyet park. On the way the Turkish police brutally attacked the crowd and arrested 10.
Many people were injured by the attack where the police used batons to beat the people celebrating the UN’s peace day and also used pepper spray on them.
Peoples Houses organization will hold a press release today to protest this needless and brutal attack
