Hundreds of people gathered to lynch the Kurdish workers in Bozkir town of central Turkey in Konya region. The attackers chanting, “God Is Great! We don’t want people from the east in our town!” assaulted the Kurdish workers where 2 workers were injured seriously. The police did not intervene and watched as the events escalated. The Kurds, having no protection for their lives are preparing to leave the Turkish town.
The attack was instigated against the 25 Kurdish building workers by people organized by the MHP- Nationalist Movement Party (a Nazi organization involved in many murders of progressives. The founder and organizer of paramilitary Grey Wolves, who were notorious in their coordinated attack against peaceful civilians with the police. In the 1960’s the Grey Wolves protected the US 6th fleet soldiers who came to Istanbul to use the Turkish brothels against the people who demonstrated against the US. Grey Wolves together with the Nationalist Movement Party is involved in many organized crimes and state terror actions as well as money laundering, drug trafficking and other criminal activities. Couple of MHP Parliamenterian representatives were cought at the Turkish border while trying to smuggle narcotics, presumably to trade for arms used to assasinate leftists. Mehmet Ali Agca, the Grey Wolf and MHP sympathizer and organizer, working hand in hand with intelligence services tried assasinating the Pope in 1981. Translator’s note.)
500 thugs raid a coffee shop
The events started by spreading rumors that the Kurdish workers had beaten other building workers. A crowd of 500 people gathered to take “revenge.” The mob then headed to the coffee shop frequented by the Kurds. Two Kurdish workers were seriously injured by the raiding thugs.
Police did not intervene
While the injured Kurds were taken to the hospital, the crowd continued to march through the town’s streets well into the night screaming, “God Is Great! We don’t want Easterners in Our Town!” The local governor had to call the military troops for help when the police refused to intervene in the lynching.
