The Human Rights Association in Turkey (HRA-IHD) protested the new Anti-Terror law in the central part of Turkey’s fourth largest city Adana.
Ethem Açıkalın, the Human Rights Association’s Adana branch Secretary, read a press release in which he said on August 12, two very young children were shot and wounded by the Turkish police. He said the Turkish police conducted executions without trial by shooting at suspects. When he read these sentences, undercover police attacked and arrested the Human Rights Association secretary.
The participants in the press release protested the arrest by clapping.
The press release was read under very heavy presence and surveillance of the special units of the Turkish police called the Agile Force. The participants shouted, “Anti-Terror Law should be repealed,” and, “Your Oppression Will not Deter us!”
