In a talk given by the president of the Agriculturalists Association İbrahim Yetkin, announced that the price of diesel had gone up 114.2% and the farmers lost 65% of their income. He said the farmers costs went up but the price of their produce went down.
İbrahim Yetkin warned that the events being lived around hazelnut production would be repeated for cotton, grapes, tea and other agricultural products. He reminded that there were 17 agriculture cooperatives that kept farming alive in Turkey and said, “If they attempt to play the games they played for hazelnut in other cooperatives, all foundations will shake.”
İbrahim Yetkin also called for hazelnut growers not to sell their products to the market till September 15th as a protest.
