A rally and a march took place in Istanbul to protest Israel’s aggression against Palestinian and Lebanese people.
The march started at 8:30PM on Monday July 17th from Taksim Square after the rally. Many democratic organizations such as Coordination Against Iraq’s Occupation, BDSP, Divrigi Cultural Association, FHDD, Peoples Houses, Liberation Party, Freedom and Solidarity Party, SEH, Social Democratic Party and TÖP were present at the protest.
During the rally and the march the crowd chanted, “Imperialist occupiers, don’t forget what happened to the 6th Fleet!” (Referring to the incidents in 1960’s where the people prevented the ‘visiting’ USA’s 6th fleet to dock in Istanbul and fought the marines and threw them to the sea.) Banners read, “Everywhere is Palestine, We are all Palestinian”, “Imperialists and Zionists will Lose, The Resisting People Will Win.”
Other slogans heard during the march were, “Down with the US Imperialism”, “Palestine will be the Grave of Zionism”, “”Long Live the Revolutionary Solidarity”, “Palestinian People are Not Alone in Their Struggle”, “Imperialism will lose, Resisting People Will Win.”
