The practice of Family Health Care program implemented by the ruling JDP (Justice and Development Party) will be launched in Eskişehir on July 17th as a part of the comprehensive Reform on Health Care plan. The same program had been put into effect in Düzce, another town, recently.
The democratic organizations of Eskişehir which includes KESK (The Confederation of Public Workers’ Unions), DISK (The Confederation of Progressive Labor Unions), TMMOB (The Chamber of Engineers and Architects), EBTO, ESMMMO and Halkevleri (Peoples Houses Organization) has formed a coalition to protest and resist against this reactionary, backward step by the government called, “The Platform Against the Sham of ‘Family Health Care’. ”
The Platform will organize actions against the government’s plan to take away the health care rights which includes a July 8th demonstration on Saturday. The action will enjoy the support of other rallies throughout the country which will kick-off with the slogan, “We are defending our Health Care Rights!”
