The fire fighters and members of Tümbel-Sen, the Union of Municipality Workers, demanded to be able to exercise their rights to the wear-and-tear benefit which was secured under the Social Security and General Health Insurance policy.
The fire fighters and municipal law enforcers were excluded from having access to this right which gives extra compensation to workers who are in high risk jobs.
In the rally they organized, the fire fighters and municipal law enforcers chanted, “Fire Station is on Fire, Hasn’t anybody noticed?” and, “Our Wear-and-Tear Right can not be Repealed!”
