Maltepe People’s Cultural Center (MHKM) released a press statement on March 4 in connection to an anti-imperialist campaign they have started.
The reading of the statement was frequently interrupted by chanting slogans– “We want an Independent Country and a Decent Life”, “Long Live Our Revolutionary Struggle”, Intifada in Palestine, Resistance in Iraq Will Win”, “Murderous USA Collaborator AKP”.
A large placard which read, “Join the Struggle Against Imperialism for an Independent Country and a decent Life/Peoples Cultural Centers” was displayed at the meeting accompanied with many anti-imperialist signs.
The press release pointed out that, “imperialism is a calamity for mankind, Turkey is under covert occupation and it is essential for people in Turkey to raise the struggle against it”.
The rally ended with participants collectively chanting, “Long Live our Revolutionary Struggle for Salvation’.
