The Assembly of Exporters group (TİM) and the Association of Istanbul Ready-Made Clothing Exporters stated that there were 2 million workers in the industry and that constituted the 20% of all employment. The manufacturers and exporters also added that in the last 8 to 10 months, there have been around 15,000 to 200,000 job losses and that they feared this number would grow.
